Today #KeepNCSafe released two coloring pages for families to complete as part of the awareness campaign around Charlotte’s Bathroom Ordinance. If the General Assembly does not take action before April 1st, Men will be able to enter women’s restrooms, showers and locker rooms if they identify or express themselves as a women. Evidence shows that bathrooms are one of the most prevalent places in which attacks or sexual assault occur.  We have created the coloring pages as a tool for you to have age-appropriate conversations with your children and provide them with a way to encourage Governor McCrory to take action to #KeepNCSafe.

As the Governor and our leaders in the North Carolina General Assembly review their options for a special session, it’s a good time to review safety and privacy concerns in changing rooms, locker rooms, public bathrooms and showers.  Each sheet has a number of discussion topics for you and your children. Focus on the Family has a number of resources at http://www.focusonthefamily.com/socialissues/sexuality/talking-to-your-children-about-transgender-issues.
